"It's been a little while since I graduated (hehe), but this time of year still makes me giddy for those clean slate vibes. Though currently, I'm less focused on spiral-bound notebooks and more focused on giving my skin, hair, and wardrobe a fresh start. Let's be honest: summer can be brutal on our self-care routines, and between travel, chlorine, and plain old slacking off, the end of summer is the perfect time to pull it together.Â

I came home from our month in Malibu with a melasma flare-up, a couple new breakouts, and pores that somehow looked bigger than when I left Austin. Thankfully, I love a project, especially when it comes to a makeover (c'mon, it's fun!). So, I'm dedicating August to getting my skin back in shape.
When it comes to great skin, I believe in a multi-pronged approach: you have to consider skin clarity, laxity, texture, and hydration. And it often requires a mix of in-office dermatology, a skilled facialist, and a daily skincare regimen that rebuilds my skin barrier and treats hyperpigmentation."

Professional massage and lymphatic drainage
"I'm really into at-home facial massage right now, and I've been doing a quick massage daily as part of my skincare (more on that below). That said, nothing beats a sculpting facial massage done by a professional who truly understands the fascia. I go to Brooke at The Road, who does an incredible sculpting massage that incorporates gua sha, microcurrent, red light, and opening the lymphatics. (This photo shows her doing the Qi Beauty Matrix on me with gold-plated magnets. It sounds crazy, but the results speak for themselves.) We don't often look at our skin's condition through the lens of stress, tension, and lifestyle—and Brooke sees it all holistically."
Camille is also a fan of Skinny Confidential face rollers, of course available at The Road!
At-home facial massage routine
"I've become a facial massage convert. The stress and tension that we hold in our bodies (even our neck, shoulders, and scalp) shows up on our face, and taking a few minutes each day to massage the face helps break up the fascia. Applying some cold (either by chilling your facial roller or dunking your face in ice water like the wellness girlies) to reduce swelling works wonders. Pls, it feels so pampering.."
